APAC and LATAM ESL Pro League CS:GO Season 9 qualifiers announced

This is how teams from the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions can play their way into Round 1 of the revamped EPL.

As previously announced, the world’s longest-running professional CS:GO league will return in 2019 with a revamped format. Two group stage rounds across three regions will determine which teams earn the right to play in the the ESL Pro League CS:GO Season 9 Finals.

While rosters from Europe and North America will qualify automatically for Round 1 based on their Season 8 performance, squads in Latin America and Asia-Pacific have several paths into the EPL’s competitive pyramid. They are the following:

Latin America

There will be four spots reserved for Latin American teams in one single group for Round 1 of the Americas region. The winner of this group will qualify directly for the Season 9 finals, while second and third will get another chance to do so in Round 2 alongside North American teams.

Two of those teams will come from the ESL LA League, to be played in February, while the other two spots will be decided through open and closed qualifiers, one for Latam North, one for Latam South. Please check which region your country belongs to in the sign-up links below.

Latam North:

Asia Pacific

For Round 1, the APAC region will be divided into three sub-regions:

Australia and New Zealand

Eight teams from the ANZ sub-region will qualify for Round 1 based on their performance in the current Mountain Dew League. They will be split into groups of four. Group winners and runners-up will qualify for Round 2, where four teams will battle for one spot in the EPL Season 9 Finals.

China​

There will be four spots reserved for Chinese teams in one single group for Round 1 of the APAC region. Two of them will come from direct invites, while the other two will be decided through open and closed qualifiers The group winner and runner-up will qualify for Round 2, where they will play for one spot in the EPL Season 9 Finals alongside two teams from the Rest of Asia.

Rest of Asia​

There will be four spots reserved for ROA teams in one single group for Round 1 of the APAC region. One spot will go to the winner of the current season of the Indian Premiership, while the other three will be decided through open and closed qualifiers.
