Following the success of the recent S.K.I.L.L. events at our studios in Cologne including the ESL Euro Series and the Allstars Cup 2014, we are happy to introduce a new league system that will be set up in addition to the ongoing Go4 competition.
This system will implement three new linked leagues: the ESL Pro League, ESL Major League and the ESL Open League.
ESL Pro League
The ESL Pro League will be the highest-ranked S.K.I.L.L. league, where the eight best European teams compete for a hefty €15,000 prize pool. Out of the eight teams, two teams will be directly invited while the other six will be determined through several qualifiers. This year, two confirmed teams will be myXMG and Senpai, who gained their slot as a result of their strong performances in the S.K.I.L.L. Allstars 2014 grand final.
ESL Major League
The Major League will feature 16 teams and will reward the best teams with a spot in the ESL Pro League. In addition to moving up in the ranks, the ESL Major League will offer a €3,000 prize pool to its participants. You can get an overview of the entire qualification process on the ESL Major League hub.
ESL Open League
Finally, the ESL Open League will be free for any team who wants to seize their chance. After a series of group stage games and playoff matchups, the leading teams will advance on to the ESL Major League. It’s the perfect opportunity for newly formed teams who are eager to show off their skills and move up through the leagues - check out the ESL Open Portal and read through the FAQ to get started right away.
We will announce further details on the upcoming qualifiers and Pro League games in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Go4S.K.I.L.L.
In addition to the new league system, the Go4S.K.I.L.L series has been extended for all of 2015. Thanks to its €18,500 total prize pool, the series will pay out up to €2,000 each month. Teams can sign up for Go4S.K.L.L.L right now and start training for the Pro League qualifiers. Register your team before Sunday the 25th of January and qualify for the monthly finals throughout the year.
We hope to see you in the ESL S.K.I.L.L. leagues soon!
