The European Evolve Proving Grounds regional finals took place last Sunday at the ESL studios in Cologne, Germany, where four teams battled it out for a slot in the grand finals. Eventually, it was Dark Elites and SHLINGUE EVO who came out on top, meaning they will both be heading to Los Angeles later this year.
However, now it’s time to determine which two North American teams will join the European ones in the battle for US$100,000, the grand final’s impressive prize pool. A series of online qualifiers determined which four teams would travel to the ESL studios in Burbank, California, to fight for the last two remaining slots in the Los Angeles grand finals, and now the competition is almost upon us.
The four North American teams who will face each other in the LAN semifinals are:
Hyde in the Stink
Mammoth Bird OP
The above teams will clash in best of three matches in a double elimination tournament format, with the two teams who emerge victorious from the winner and loser’s brackets earning tickets to Los Angeles for the grand finals. The regionals will be topped off with one last match between the two qualified teams in order to determine how they will be seeded in the final.
The competition in the NA online qualifiers has been stiff, so make sure not to miss the regional finals to see who will join Dark Elites and SHLINGUE EVO in Los Angeles for the battle for the US$100,000 prize pool!
Tune in here on Sunday the 31st of May at 19:00 CEST!
