The 2016 Intel Extreme Masters World Championship officially the most-watched non-major Counter-Strike event!

Clocking in at almost 10 millions hours of content watched, the US$250,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive World Championship at Intel Extreme Masters 2016 is officially the most-watched non-major tournament the title has ever seen.

After days of intense competition including some incredible upsets, it was CS:GO titans Fnatic who emerged victorious, having defeated other grand finalist Luminosity gaming in front of thousands of fans at the Spodek arena - check out our in-depth breakdown of all the in-game stats below!

Michal Blicharz, VP of pro gaming at ESL, had the following to say about the figures:

“We’ve had a season filled with some absolutely fantastic Counter-Strike action - from NA contenders facing off with home ground advantage in San Jose to local teams giving established ones a run for their money in Taipei. Katowice was no exception and as a result we see the CS:GO competition there become by far the most-watched non-major of all time. To have that happen the year the game returns to Intel Extreme Masters is phenomenal.”
