Hundreds enter, only six will succeed: Who will make it to Frankfurt?

With June the 28th fast approaching, ESL One Frankfurt already has two amazing teams attending and now six more will be joining them. To make sure only the strongest teams will be joining us at the event, ESL and joinDOTA have joined forces to create a balanced qualification system to ensure tough competition and epic matches.

This system is made up of two stages – an open bracket stage and a secondary stage that includes invited teams. The four strongest teams from the open bracket stage will join the invited teams in the second stage to decide who among them will attend ESL One Frankfurt.

EUROPE
For the European qualifier, the four teams advancing from the massive open bracket will be joined by twelve invited teams. These invited teams have each proved their strength in previous tournaments and, due to their tough professional schedules, we have offered them the opportunity to participate in the second stage of the qualifiers.

AMERICA
In the American qualifier, the four teams from the open bracket will be joined by four teams invited for the same reason as their European counterparts.

The European invited teams

  • Empire
  • Cloud 9
  • Fnatic
  • Sigma.int
  • Power Rangers
  • rox.KIS
  • Virtus.pro
  • MeetYourMakers
  • Team Dog
  • Next.kz
  • Relax
  • Goomba

The American invited teams

  • Evil Geniuses
  • Team Liquid
  • eHug
  • For Sweet Revenge

As most of these teams are also playing in other tournaments such as DreamLeague, the Dota 2 Champions League, StarLadder and more, we are working together with the teams to provide good scheduling and allow for participation in all of these events.

Schedule Europe

  • Open Qualifier: April 4th and 5th
  • Group Stages: April 14th  to 27th
  • Playoffs: April 28th to May 11th

Schedule America

  • Open Qualifier: April 19th and 20th
  • Playoffs: April 28th to May 4th

After the massive open bracket in Europe, sixteen teams will be split up into four groups of four. The two strongest teams will qualify for the ESL One Frankfurt while others will get a final chance to qualify. In America, the teams will face off against each other in a single elimination bracket to decide who will head to Frankfurt and join Natus Vincere and Alliance.

More information on the Asian Qualifiers will be released in the coming days!

Seize your chance and join in the Open Bracket for your chance at glory!
