The LCS welcomes two new teams

The EU LCS Promotion matches took place last weekend, bringing with them their fair share of upsets. Whilst SK Gaming managed to come back from a 2:0 deficit to secure their place in the upcoming season, others were not so lucky. Newly restructured NiP, favourites to re-enter the LCS competition, lost out in a 3:0 defeat against Polish KMT who will be joined by recently qualified Copenhagen Wolves.

Copenhagen Wolves come back with a fresh team! Previous LCS seasons have earned Copenhagen Wolves a spot on the mantelpiece: home to former NiP players Svenskeren, Deficio and their mates, they are more than just a well known name, they have a proven track record. Although the new season brought with it a complete restructuring, it seems the team is still very much on track with a 3:1 victory over MYM. Can YoungBuck, Forg1ven and their team shake up the LCS like the old Copenhagen Wolves did before?

SK Gaming turn their series around and defend their spot!

Saturday saw one ridiculously close series be played out as SK Gaming took on SHC. The new kids on the block took the first two games and it didn't seem as if SK Gaming had it in them to turn the game around. But they did. The third game saw CandyPanda, Jesiz and Svenskeren step back into their comfort zones, from which the Europeans were able to take the series to a 3:2 victory. Will there be calls this close in the 2014 EU LCS Season? Only time will tell...

KMT take down NiP with a clear and flawless 3:0

The biggest upset of the weekend was undoubtedly when NiP were knocked out by Polish ESL Pro Series winner, KMT. No one could have foreseen KMT taking the series 3:0, especially with NiP being named one of the favorites for the 2014 LCS Season. It seemed that the former LD trio alongside Hyrqbot and Freeze were simply unprepared for lay in wait. KMT's Celaver pulled a wicked punch, carrying his team to victory by putting up impressive Vayne and Lucian performances against the experienced LCS team, NiP. Having entered the competition with a bang, KMT are certainly one to look out for in the upcoming season.
