We are happy to announce the Acer Joes vs. Pros showmatches! The showmatches, which will take place on Sunday the 6th of March during Intel Extreme Masters Katowice, will give CS:GO fans an amazing, one-of-a-kind opportunity to test their skills against some of the best professional players in the world.
The format
The format of the showmatches is as follows:
- Five members from the audience (the Joes) are selected to play against the Pros
- To start, the Joes play against one Pro. If they win five rounds, they unlock a prize and another Pro is added to the opposing team
- The Joes continue to play against the Pros. After winning five rounds, a more valuable prize is unlocked and a third Pro added
- The process repeats until either the Joes lose, or win 15 rounds
The pros
Audience members will be able to compete with Astralis, one of the best professional CS:GO teams in the world.
However, the Joes won’t be left completely to fend for themselves, and will have a coach in the form of Kevin “Tweeday” Tweedale.
The prizes
If they fare well against the Pros, the Joes will be able to pick up the following prizes in the various rounds of the showmatches:
- First round: Predator t-shirts
- Second round: Predator mice
- Third round: 15-inch Predator notebooks
The time and place
There will be a total of two showmatches taking place, both on Sunday the 6th of March in Expo Hall B. The first match is scheduled to take place after the first semifinal of the Intel Challenge tournament at around 15:40 CET. The second match will be played after the second semifinal at approximately 19:50 CET.
