For 2015, the NA and EU LCS will feature two additional team slots each region, for up to ten teams in total and ESL is happy to introduce the 2015 Spring Expansion Tournaments will be held in our studios. The teams participating in the two regional competitions will be fighting it out for the right to participate for their respective region’s Championship Series.
The Spring Expansion Tournaments will consist of team picked from the Challenger Series Playoffs, the Promotion Tournament and Ranked 5s Ladder. The North American bracket is already set in stone, as shown in the graphic below, while the European participants have yet to be determined. The first and second round match-ups will be played out on patch 4.19, in a single elimination BO3 format. CompLexity Black and Crs Academy are already sitting pretty in the second round, thanks to their pre-qualifying performance in the Promotion Tournament.

The schedule for the first three rounds is as follows:
- November 15-16: NA Expansion (Round 1, Online)
- November 22-23: NA Expansion (Round 2, Online), EU Expansion (Round 1, Online)
- November 29-30: EU Expansion (Round 2, Online)
- December 12-14: NA Live Expansion (Round 3, Live)
- December 18-21: EU Live Expansion (Round 3, Live)
Once the first three single elimination rounds conclude, the remaining four teams will feature in a double elimination LAN tournament setting at our ESL studios in Burbank, CA and during IEM Cologne, Germany.
