Can Araneae take on the returning Korean superjungler?

Group A's second matchup is a funny one: Millenium will face off against the fallen giant that is the KT Rolster Bullets. Neither team is being particularly successful in their respective regions at the moment - Millenium has been at the bottom of the EU LCS's standings for the last couple of weeks now and the Bullets' SK Telecom Masters performance has been lackluster at best.

Compared to the other teams at this tournament, these two have very little going for them. Millenium qualified for the tournament by handily winning the Intel Extreme Masters Sao Paulo title, but they didn't have to face top tier opposition there. Their LCS performance has had its ups, however, with them taking games off ROCCAT and Fnatic as well as being 2-1 up against current leader SK Gaming. KT Rolster Bullets ended third in the Champions Winter Playoffs at the beginning of this year, which is nothing to scoff at. Since the end of the Champions season, however, it all went downhill.

Millenium's jungler and captain Alvar "Araneae" Martin Aleñar

The recent roster swaps that had KaKAO move to KT Rolster Arrows, presumably because he had been underperforming. The team subsequently welcomed the Arrows support player Zero to fill the position of jungler. Zero hasn't actually seen that much play, however, as the team has recently had inSec go back to the jungle from where he hails and used substitute Leopard in the top lane. With inSec's past status as a world-class jungle playmaker, eSports fans had high expectations of this move. These expectations were then crushed last weekend as inSec managed to go 2-12 on Vi in a heartbreaking defeat to Incredible Miracle.

KT Rolster Bullets was once considered a top three team in Korea, known for their astounding seemingly on-the-go decision making. SK Telecom T1 K would be the only ones to keep them from being the Korean champion. They didn't have too many international appearances, never attending Intel Extreme Masters and being unable to qualify for the Season 3 World Championship, losing to SK Telecom T1 K in the regional finals. Their one memorable intercontinental appearance was at the March 2013 MLG Pro Circuit Exhibition, where they demolished Team Curse and managed a 2-1 win over Gambit Gaming. KT Rolster Bullets will be Korea's sole representative at Katowice, so it'll be up to them to step up their game and defend the Koreans' status as League of Legends overlords.

Millenium has always seemed promising, sporadically taking games against tough teams and boasting strong individual players. Every tournament they've attended saw them hailed as a possible dark horse. So far, they haven't been able to live up to this perceived potential. However, Katowice will give them the chance to prove that they're worth their salt and are actually a contender on the world stage, the underperforming KT Rolster Bullets possibly becoming a suitable stepping stone towards this goal. The Europeans are known to have difficulties closing out games, and whether or not they manage to work around this problem will prove to be pivotal in being able to secure a win.

All eyes will be on the junglers. Both Araneae and inSec are the faces of their teams, and both of them have a reputation for game-deciding momentum. How will inSec fare in the jungle next week, and will Araneae successfully lead his team to victory against the Koreans' seasoned rotations?
