The first official season of the South East Europe Championship is here! Once more, players from the South East European region will have the chance to show their stuff and represent their countries. But who will be crowned South East Europe’s champion?

What is the South East Europe Championship?
The ESL South East Europe (SEE) Championship is a multi-game esports competition in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), League of Legends and Hearthstone for the South East Europe region. Created in order to encourage the region’s competitive scene, it enables gamers from different countries to compete, improve their skills and gain visibility while also providing high-quality esports entertainment for local fans.
The ESL SEE Championship includes six main regions and a total of 15 countries, these being:
Single countries regions:
- Hungary
- Bulgaria
- Turkey
Multi-country regions:
- Greece and Cyprus
- Romania and Moldova
- Adriatic (Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia (FYROM), Malta, Albania)
Team eligibility
Please note the following rules concerning team eligibility for the ESL SEE Championship apply:
- League of Legends - Four out of five active team members must come from the SEE region that the team is applying represent
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - Three out of five active team members must come from the SEE region that the team is applying to represent
What are the prizes?
The total prize money offered at the last stage of the ESL South East Europe Championship is €5,000, which will be broken down as follows:

How does it work?
The ESL South East Europe Championship will include two regional qualifiers followed by a national final, which only the top four players and teams from each qualifier will get to compete in. The top X participants will qualify for the main round, with X being the number of slots for the given game and region (see the table below).

The main round will have 16 participants in each game, with these divided into four groups of four. Two participants will advance to the next phase of the championship - the online playoffs - from each group. The online playoffs will determine the qualified participants for the offline event in Bucharest at the East European Comic Con on the 9th and 10th of May.
