The 2015 League of Legends World Championship is almost upon us, and we’re pleased to announce that budding managers will once again be able to prove their mettle by taking part in an official ESL Fantasy league! If you think you have what it takes and want to get your hands on some awesome swag from the ESL Shop, read on to find out more and sign up here!
How it works
ESL Fantasy for the 2015 League of Legends World Championship will be using a budget-based system, with each fantasy manager starting with $6,600 of virtual currency with which to pick five players as well as one team for their lineup.
Player prices will be updated based on their performance, and after the first phase of the group stage (October 1st to 4th) on the 5th of October rosters will be unlocked so managers can update them as they wish.
Following the second phase of the group stage (October 8th to 11th), player prices will be updated and rosters unlocked once more on October the 9th, with all managers getting an additional $600 to furnish their roster for the quarterfinals.
After the quarterfinals, rosters will be unlocked one final time, and all fantasy managers will get an additional $10,000 to put together their dream team for semi and grand finals.
Here’s a full breakdown of how points can be earned by your players:
Private leagues
In addition to the official ESL Fantasy Worlds 2015 league, you can also make - or be part of - as many private leagues as you want.
Each private league can include up to 12 teams and will use a snake draft system, with managers drafting five players, one team and two benched players (who do not earn points). Rosters will be unlocked at the same times as they are for the public ESL Fantasy League, so pick wisely to make sure your team triumphs over your friends’!
Prizes
In addition to bragging rights, the top fantasy managers in the main ESL Fantasy league will be able to get their hands on the following prizes:
- First place: €50 ESL Shop voucher
- Second place: €25 ESL Shop voucher
