Whitworth University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university located in Spokane, Washington, in the United States that offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees in a variety of academic disciplines. It is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Whitworth University welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds and celebrates the richness that this diversity provides to the campus community.

Since 1890, Whitworth has held fast to its founding mission of providing "an education of mind and heart" through rigorous intellectual inquiry guided by dedicated Christian scholars.

Whitworth University's 200-acre campus of red-brick buildings and tall pines offers a beautiful, inviting and secure learning environment. More than $83 million in campus improvements have been made over the past decade, including a new, 63,000-square-foot science facility that houses state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms, a 20,000 square-foot center for visual arts with a computer graphics laboratory and galleries, as well as a new general academics building, three new residence halls and several outdoor athletics facilities.

Whitworth University is ranked second in U.S. News and World Report's 2011 rankings of best values among master's level universities in the West, based upon both academic quality and average scholarship/financial aid award. Kiplinger Magazine ranks Whitworth in the top 100 of all private universities in the U.S. Additionally The Princeton Review names Whitworth a "Best in the West" school in its 2012 guide the Best Colleges.

Whitworth offers students many opportunities to enjoy college life, including concerts, films showings, and comedy shows. Whitworth creates a warm and supportive residential community where students have multiple points of contact - with roommates and other residents, with their student leaders, and with the resident directors. Intramurals allows for students living in the residence halls or off campus to compete in a multitude of sports and events, including football, volleyball, softball, aerobics, ultimate Frisbee, roller-blade hockey, and water polo.

Whitworth's student body represents more than 30 foreign countries.

The tuition and fees for 2012-2013 are $33,676, and room and board is $9,364. Whitworth international students are eligible for both merit and need-based aid, which is given in the form of scholarships, grants and part-time, on-campus employment.

Whitworth University offers 60 undergraduate majors and seven master's programs. Eighty-two percent of classes have fewer than 30 students and the student-faculty ratio is 13-to-1.

Whitworth University recognizes the health and safety of the campus community as our highest priority. In addition to ensuring the basic safety of the Whitworth community through 24-hour security operations and emergency response preparation, the university provides access to a wide range of health and counseling services on and off campus.
