It is easier to learn another language in a country where everyone speaks that language. We plan our program to help you get the most from the English-speaking environment here in Nashville, Tennessee.
Basic through Advanced Instruction
We offer conversation, listening, reading, writing, and grammar classes to help you successfully master English. The Curriculum is divided into six levels, beginner through advanced.
Class time is only five hours per day. Homework is another two or three. IEI plans different kinds of extracurricular activities throughout each term: athletic events, cultural events, and social events.
English for Academic Purposes
Students who are planning to attend colleges and universities in the United States are given focused help. Each individual student is given a plan and a time table for achieving this goal. The plan includes:
Preparation for the TOEFL, TOEIC or Michigan (MELAB) including linguistic preparation and practice in general test-taking skills for these tests in the paper versions and computer-based versions
Preparation for university academic success developing skills in reading, writing (including a research paper), lecture note-taking and classroom discussion
Cross-cultural counseling about United States university culture and life--the "American" academic world
Assistance in researching, choosing and applying to US colleges or universities
