America’s Technical College®

Our History

New England Institute of Technology was founded in 1940. We are an accredited, degree-granting technical college committed to providing quality technical education to students of all ability ranges. Each of our programs is taught with a powerful combination of technical expertise and hands-on training. Associate in Science Degrees and Bachelor of Science Degrees are offered in over 30 different technologies.

Hands-On Education

As a technical college, New England Institute of Technology provides a balanced curriculum with hands-on learning and theoretical knowledge in each technical major combined with a core of liberal arts courses. With an average class size of no more than 25 students, our faculty has the opportunity to interact closely with every student. Since hands-on learning is the focus of all New England Tech programs, our labs feature cutting-edge equipment in order for our students to be well prepared for the workplace.

Admissions

New England Institute of Technology has an open enrollment policy; however, a student must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED to be accepted into the college. Students interested in attending New England Tech will be assessed in reading, writing and math for placement in general education classes. For those students whose first language is not English, the TOEFL or IELTS tests are accepted. All students have access to our Academic Skills Center for additional support in English and Math through one-on-one tutorials or small group lessons with our learning specialists at no additional charge.

New Arrivals

Each international student is greeted at the Providence airport and assisted with housing, shopping and transportation needs. Once settled in, an exclusive orientation for international students will be conducted. Each student has constant communication with our International Student Advisor, and will also be assigned an Academic Advisor. These steps are taken to help ensure a smooth transition and to cultivate the success of each student.

Over the years, we have provided high-quality, hands-on technical education to students from more than 30 countries. For more information, please visit the international program page on our website or contact our Director of International Admissions, Mark Seltzer, at 401.467.7744 ext 3489.
