About The Programs

Intensive English Program

This program is designed to help students, visitors, and recent immigrants improve their English skills for academic study, career advancement, or personal enrichment. The curriculum integrates grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Cultural and social activities provide additional real-life opportunities to use English skills actively.

  • Four levels - from Beginner to Advanced
  • Small classes (average 15 students)
  • Students from more than 30 countries
  • Experienced and professional faculty, with Master's Degrees
  • Undergraduate & Graduate credit courses open to students at the advanced level

Pre-Graduate Program

To excel in an American graduate school requires that you possess a special set of skills. If you are planning to apply to a graduate degree program in the United States, Pace University's Pre-Graduate Program for the MBA and Other Graduate Studies can help you prepare for the American graduate school experience. The Pre-Graduate Program is the only one of its kind in New York City and Westchester County. Students get a running start on their MBA or other graduate degrees by acquiring the abilities essential for academic success.

In the Pre-Graduate Program students learn to work on team projects, conduct in-depth library and internet research, organize American-style research papers, and deliver sophisticated, clear, and confident presentations.

  • Pace University credit courses for qualified students, which can be used at Pace or for transfer
  • Experienced and professional faculty
  • Academic advisement and counseling

Completion of Pre-Graduate program can be used as a substitute for TOEFL in Pace MBA admissions.

Pre-Undergraduate Program

This program is designed to prepare advanced students for study in an undergraduate degree program at Pace or another American university. Students learn to write different types of essays, read and think critically about texts, and conduct in-depth library and internet research.

  • Pace University credit courses for qualified students, which can be used at Pace or for transfer
  • Experienced and professional faculty
  • Academic advisement and counseling

Conditional Admission

Students who meet Pace University's academic requirements for admission to an undergraduate or a graduate program but do not meet the minimum English language requirement will be considered for conditional admission. Conditional admission to Pace University requires that you take English language courses through the Pace English Language Institute (ELI.) The TOEFL requirement will then be waived for students who successfully complete this program.

Pre-Law Program

This program is designed for international LL.M. students and lawyers to provide them with the language and academic skills needed to succeed in an American law school as well as the English necessary for legal purposes and understanding of American laws.

An academic skills-based approach with legal content and including typical activities in an American law school class will be utilized in all courses to prepare international students for the challenges of an LL.M. program. Courses include Legal Writing, Reading Legal Materials, Listening and Speaking Skills for Law School, Introduction to U.S. Common Law and Legal Education. Extracurricular activities include visits to courthouses and law firms.

  • Small class size
  • Experienced and professional faculty, with Master's Degrees in TESOL and J.D. degrees

Completion of summer Pre-Law Program may in some cases be used as a substitute for TOEFL in Pace Law School LL.M. Program admissions.
