The University
Loyola University Chicago is the most diverse and one of the largest of the 28 private Jesuit universities and colleges in the United States with four Chicago-area campuses and the John Felice Rome Center Campus in Italy. Currently, its students come from all 50 states and 82 foreign countries and from a wide range of cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Students have access to an extensive network of support services including libraries, computer labs, multimedia classrooms, cafeterias, and sports and recreation centers.
The English as a Second Language Program
Loyola ESL is an intensive program that prepares students for university and professional work in English as used in the United States. Classes are offered at the Beginner, Low Intermediate, High Intermediate, and Advanced levels. All skills — Speaking, Listening, Writing, Grammar, Reading, and Vocabulary — are coordinated curriculum during morning and afternoon core classes. We also offer specialized classes — TOEFL Preparation, Business English, and American English Pronunciation — during the day and evening. Features of the program include:

Calendar
Classes are offered in three semesters throughout the year: Fall and Spring (15 weeks); Summer (12 weeks or 6 weeks)
Part time study is available for those students who are US citizens or permanent residents or whose visas allow them to study part time.
Costs:
- Tuition for full-time study: $5757 for Fall and Spring
- $5220 for 12-week Summer session and $2610 for 6-weeks Summer sessions
- Fees and books approximately $200 for full-time students

Loyola's ESL students are encouraged and expected to participate in the vibrant life of the City of Chicago, with all its opportunities for students to apply their English lessons in real-life situations: museums, art galleries, beaches, cinemas, jazz and blues clubs, symphonies, entertainment districts, shopping, and a wide variety of restaurants.
