Accreditation
The Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies at the University of Central Florida is accredited by the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA) and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs. The Intensive English Program is the first to be accredited in the state of Florida by CEA. CMMS Intensive English Program
An array of English language programs and special services awaits every international seeking to step into the global community. The Center's flagship program, the Intensive English Program (IEP), has served several thousand students since its founding in 1987. These students are fulfilling their goals as a result of advancing their English skills. Many have graduated from UCF and other US colleges and universities with bachelor and advanced degrees in such fields as business administration, engineering, and computer science, to name only a few. English proficiency and advanced knowledge have opened the world to them. In addition to preparing students for success in academic credit programs, CMMS introduces its international students to American culture and strengthens their English language skills with a variety of community-oriented activities.
CMMS Intensive English Program offers:
- Quality English education at a competitive price
- Highly qualified instructional staff
- 7-week and 14-week programs, with five hours of classes each day
- Four levels of instruction, from beginning to advanced
- Small classes with an average of 15 students per class
- Core courses include Grammar, Reading, and Writing
- Listening, Speaking and Communication Skills courses offered at different levels
- Test preparation for TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, and SAT
- Institutional TOEFL test offered at the end of each semester free of charge
- A new building with state-of-the-art computer facilities
- Opportunities to observe academic classes at UCF
- Part-time academic study for qualified students
- Extracurricular activities include conversation with American students, volunteer opportunities, field trips to local attractions, picnics, and awards ceremony
- Academic advising to assist international students in identifying colleges and universities and guide students through the application process
