ESL Program Introduction
Academic Intensive English Program (AIEP) & University Preparation Track (UPT)
The Academic Intensive English Program is designed for those
- who want to prepare for undergraduate or graduate study in an American college or university; the program includes a University Preparation Track (UPT), and/or
- who plan to study English for personal or professional reasons, using a rigorous, academic approach
AIEP is a 10-week program in the winter, spring, and fall. In the summer, the program is offered in a 12-week session and two 6-week sessions.
Intensive English Communication Program (IECP)
The Intensive English Communication Program is designed for those who want to improve their English communication skills for personal and professional purposes.
IECP is a four-week program offered all year long, with special 12-week sessions (IECP 12) available during the winter, spring, and fall. In the last session of the summer, the program is also offered as a three-week session.
American Culture & Communication (ACC) Course
The American Culture and Communication Course is designed for individual participants
- who are in the United States primarily for tourism, business, and/or visiting family, and
- who want to improve their English and learn more about American culture and life in Southern California
ACC is a four-week course offered all year long. In last session of the summer, the course is also offered as a three-week session. This course is for part-time study only and does not qualify for the F-1 student visa. The course is not open to organized student groups.
Curriculum Highlights
Elective and topic courses are available in both intensive programs and include iBT TOEFL Preparation, Business English, Pronunciation, Idioms, Current Events, and many more.
Our state-of-the-art computer labs are available to students and provide access to the internet, email, and language learning software.
